Gebruder Weiss, an Austrian transportation and logistics company, which began operating on the Georgian market in 2012, opened a new premium-class logistical terminal in Tbilisi on September 20, 2013. According to the company’s management, there is no similar venture in the South Caucasus.
“We will truly be a success, as Georgia has a very good geographical location and doing business from here is quite easy for us. Besides, the business environment in Georgia is favorable for an investor as there is a positive attitude from the government,” the company’s CEO Wolfram Senger - Weiss said, “Therefore, we think nothing can stand in the way of Gebruder Weiss’ success.”
According to the management, construction of the terminal started in December of 2012 and was completed on schedule 7 months later. The new logistical center meets international standards on security, is equipped with cutting-edge technologies and employs qualified personnel.
“This branch will allow us to offer our customers improved access to the upcoming markets in the East. Additionally, we can offer our full range of services according to Western quality standards in the Georgian and Caucasian region as well” said Wolfram Senger-Weiss.
The hub is located close to the airport and offers direct links to important through-roads around the Georgian capital. There are plans for a connection to the rail network which the Georgian government is currently expanding nationwide.
